A New York state mother faces murder charges after allegedly beheading her 7-year-old son with a kitchen knife.

Hunane Mouhib, 36, was jailed on Friday morning in connection with the death of her son, Abraham Cárdenas. According to the authorities, Mouhib beheaded her son. When officers searched the home, they found the lifeless body of the 7-year-old. According to the police, they stabbed him in the back and cut his head.

At a press conference, Sheriff Todd Baxter alleged that authorities came to find Mouhib inside the home with other people, including her husband and other children.

According to the authorities, the deputies ordered Mouhib to drop the knife. When she allegedly refused, they used pepper spray and an electric weapon on her.

Police have been unable to determine the motive for the murder. At the press conference, Baxter said the Mouhib's alleged actions were inexplicable. "The word bad comes to mind," he told reporters, adding that first responders are receiving advice to deal with the aftermath of the creepy crime scene.

It was not the first time that the authorities responded to Mouhib's house. People magazine confirms that officers were called home twice for alleged mental health situations, on March 5 and 8. Both times, they took the woman to the hospital for treatment. After the second call, she was transported to a nearby hospital where she received treatment for more than two weeks.

The boy Abraham Cárdenas was a first grader at Barclay Elementary School in the nearby township of Brockport. In a statement, the school zone superintendent expressed regret for her death.

"He was an incredibly dynamic and committed learner," Superintendent Lesli Myers said in the statement. “He was loved by our teachers and the school community. He would light a room every time he entered. So we are also extremely saddened by Abraham's death.”

Mouhib has been charged with second degree murder. She is being held without bond at the Monroe County Jail in New York State. Court records do not show a licensed attorney to speak on your behalf.

A child with a life full of promise.
