For Joel Ortiz Rodríguez, a young father from Austin, Texas, the challenges of having a baby made him feel "frustrated", to the point that authorities accused him of repeatedly punishing his daughter until she left her with 25 broken bones.

Although the case of child abuse was disclosed last Thursday, the events occurred in October, when the medical center where the little girl was taken alerted the police when they saw that she had bruises on her ribs, pelvis and wrist, in addition of a cut under the tongue.

Likewise, laboratory tests showed that their enzyme level was high, something that experts generally associate with internal organ trauma.

In addition to the injuries, the doctors indicated that the baby was malnourished and that, within all this, she had suffered fractures "some acute, others curable", in the ribs, arms, legs and other parts of the body, up to 25. to this the authorities of the service and protection of families of that city immediately removed the baby from that house.

When the police questioned Ortiz, the 20-year-old confessed that he was sometimes "frustrated" by having to take care of her and that he had become "too aggressive", according to the official version of events.

Apparently one of the tasks that drove him the most was having to feed her when she didn't want to, and since he thought he was losing weight, he tried to force her by pushing the bottle of milk into her mouth. Likewise, on another occasion he squeezed her so hard that he could hear her chest bones "thunder" inside her little body.

In his confession, the father assured that his intention was never "to harm him" and that he and his partner should have been "more careful".

For her part, the girl's mother, whose name has not been released, also told authorities that she had heard "a cracking sound in her daughter's ribs", but attributed it to "being growing up."

Ortiz faces charges of injury to a child, a serious crime that can take him to state prison.
