15-year-old Student Shoots His Teacher And Classmates

A 15-year-old boy shot his teacher and three classmates on Wednesday in his classroom at a private school in Monterrey, in the Mexican state of Nuevo León, and later killed himself.

The Governor of Monterrey, Jaime Rodríguez, indicated that the perpetrator of the shots was so far the only one who had died and that the teacher and two of the minors are still in serious hospital condition.

The aggressor identified as Federico Guevara Elizondo died after being transferred to the hospital from the bullet wound that self-inflicted on the head.

A video with explicit images circulating on social networks, recorded by a security camera, shows the teenager getting up from his chair in the classroom and opening fire without apparently saying a word against his classmates and his teacher, after which he tries on several occasions of shooting himself in the head, until he succeeds.

The authorities have condemned the dissemination of these images and have warned that they will punish whoever has released them to the media.

According to the newspaper El Universal, the spokesman for the Nuevo León State Security Coordination Group, Aldo Fasci, said that the young man apparently suffered from mental disorders and was under treatment. The weapon, allegedly, he would have obtained at his home.

The victims are Cecilia Cristina Solís, 24, and students Ana Cecilia Díaz Ramos and Manuel Chávez, both 15, as well as Luis Fernando Ramírez, 14.
