Charles Manigo, the man who has just discovered that the daughter he has been wanting for his own for eighteen years, Kamiyah Mobley, is the product of a kidnapping, said he is "shocked" to discover the truth.

Authorities have just revealed that in July 1998 Manigo's girlfriend at the time, Gloria Williams, posed as a Jacksonville Florida hospital worker, to steal Craig Aiken and Shanara Moble's newborn baby.

The kidnapping of the little girl sparked an intense national search, which finally ended last week, when a lead led investigators to Williams' home in South Carolina, causing enormous joy to her parents in Florida, but devastating anyone. for years he believed himself to be his father.

Unable to hold back tears Manigo told ABC News: "I named it after him." He also revealed that although his romantic relationship with Williams had long ended, he was always in contact with his "daughter" and recently even went to his graduation party.

Manigo also stated that although he is not his biological father, he will always continue to be in Mobley's life. "She is still my girl," she explained. "I still love her the same. That is something that will not change. She is the love of my life. She is my girl."

After saying that he is "shocked" by the news, he added: "It is a feeling that I cannot explain, it is difficult to put into words right now … We are just trying to process it, it is 18 years old, it is something difficult to replace"

Last week the person responsible for the kidnapping, Gloria Williams, was detained by the authorities and transferred to a South Carolina prison on charges of first-degree kidnapping and interceding with the justice.
