In another apparent homicide-suicide case, South Carolina Lexington County authorities disclosed that last Sunday they found four members of a Hispanic family dead in their own home. Two of the victims were children.

On the first day of the year, shortly before 8 p.m., Marissa Hope Reynoso called 911 for help, but when the police arrived she found her dead in the main bedroom of her residence. With her were also the lifeless bodies of her two children: Elijah Chávez, 4, and Ezra Chávez, 1. They had all been killed with a firearm.

Investigators immediately issued a search warrant to find the children's father, Jorge Luis Chávez, a 25-year-old Honduran immigrant. In a few minutes they found him also dead, inside the house.

The first hypotheses indicate that it could be a homicide-suicide and that it could have been Jorge Luis who shot them all, and then killed himself. However, detectives have not yet confirmed this information, as they are still waiting for the autopsy of all the bodies that was carried out this Tuesday.

Chávez had another son, who was not at home and that is why he was saved from dying with his brothers. As a minor, the authorities have not revealed his identity.
