After the tragedy of the plane carrying the Chapecoense soccer team, a new plane crash has shocked Colombia.
The Boeing 727 with the registration HK4544 plunged ashore on Tuesday afternoon, just moments after it took off from the airport of the town of Puerto Carreño, capital of the department of Vichada.
Inhabitants of the region observed a perplexed tragedy that was predicted from the moment the plane made a forced takeoff, when it lost one of its tires - as a witness affirms - after the train of the aircraft collided with the fences of the airport as it cannot obtain an ideal height.
With phones in hand, and a little incredulous at what they saw, the witnesses recorded with dismay the moments before the collision, showing the aircraft gradually losing height on the horizon and then transforming into a fireball that materialized the worst thoughts.
The cargo aircraft, which left for Bogotá, landed five miles from the airport in the Las Granjas sector, just three minutes after taking off, as confirmed by the Colombian newspaper El Tiempo on its online site.
The accident left five people dead: the pilot Jaime Cantillo, the co-pilot Mauricio Guzmán, the flight engineer Pedro Duarte, the dispatcher Felipe Vargas and the operator Nelson Rojas. Armando Vargas, a flight technician, was reported as the sole survivor of the accident.
