Francisco Valdivia, an undocumented Mexican immigrant living in California, has just been accused of murdering Cecilia Bravo Cabrera, whom he married in the United States with the apparent objective of obtaining residency.

Along with the accused, his first wife, Rosalinda López, with whom he had married in Mexico nine years ago and from whom he never divorced, was also charged, according to the Fresno Bee newspaper.

At a press conference, Tulare County Sheriff's Department Chief Mike Boudreaux said the 30-year-old victim had been missing since June 6 and authorities have been trying to locate him since then.

Although the body of the victim is still missing so far, the police found the remains of the car cremated. Boudreaux noted that although it is a circumstantial case, enough evidence to ensure that she was killed by her husband of 37 years and the first wife.

Bravo, who was the mother of four children from a previous marriage, was seen in a casino next to Valdivia shortly before she disappeared. A few hours later her car was found about 30 miles from the scene.

"With the evidence on the scene and what we have acquired from the suspects, we are sure that they are solely responsible for their death," said Boudreaux, who assured that he has evidence that both were threatening to kill their victim.

López was arrested this week, but Valdivia was already behind bars for allegedly having several illegal marijuana crops in her home.
