The body of David Grunwald, a 16-year-old boy who had disappeared a few days ago in the small town of Palmer, Alaska, was found lifeless, beaten and shot.

Now local authorities are accusing another teenager and friend of the victim of having ruthlessly killed the young man.

Grunwald was last seen alive on November 13 when he went to leave his girlfriend at home. After his sudden and inexplicable disappearance, his father alerted local authorities, who immediately tried to locate him, according to People.

The victim's father told officers that his son could have possibly left for the capital Anchorage, accompanied by his friend Erick Almandinger, also 16 years old. The authorities then set about tracking down the boy's vehicle.

The clues found by the authorities led them to suspect Almandinger, who ended up confessing with hair and signs and without a drop of regret the crime, the Alaska Dispatch News reported.

Apparently, the victim was invited to meet her murderer and another friend the same day that she disappeared. The group met at a mobile home. There the three youngsters dedicated themselves to drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana.

The third boy, identified as a DJ, told authorities that Erick asked him to bring him a.40 caliber revolver from inside his home. The young man obeyed and when he took the gun to the trailer the three teenagers began to play with it.

According to the witness's account, at one point Almandinger mercilessly beat his friend until he was almost unconscious.

The two young men then mounted a wounded Grunwald in a vehicle to take him to a wooded area. On the way, always according to the witness, the boy begged for his life and asked to be taken to his girlfriend's house.

Both ignored him and took him to a forest, where a new subject identified as AB gave him the coup de grace.

Police indicated that after his arrest, the suspect confessed to the crime and only shed a tear when officers told him that his friend had reported him.

Asked about the motives that led him to kill his own friend, the defendant said he did so because he had smoked all of his marijuana, according to an affidavit obtained by People.

Almandinger now faces murder charges and remains in the custody of the authorities, without a lawyer and bail.

The parents of the deceased assured the local newspaper that David "was very sweet, affectionate and respectful" and that his murder is an act of "cowardice".
