Rosalia Controversy Over Virgin Mary Photo

The more than eight million followers that Rosalía has on Instagram woke up this week with a surprise. A post by the singer where apparently she has been compared to the Virgin Mary herself and that has left more than one person open-mouthed and even outraged.

The message consists of two photos: the first, with the Catalan star sitting on the steps of a trailer in a pink robe, showing lots of legs and dazzling beaded tennis shoes. Her hands in a pose reminiscent of that of some saints.

In the second image, a picture of the Virgin appears with the hands in a similar position. The post has no written message or explanation from the singer.

"Dioasalía!" Exclaimed some admiring the gesture. But others did not consider it well received: "Blasphemy", commented an Instagram user. "In bad taste if he wanted to make a joke, bad," said another. "What's been happening to you lately," someone else asked. Be that as it may, Rosalía exceeded the million likes in less than 48 hours.

The 26-year-old singer in a photo with Kylie Jenner who also caused a sensation, but not controversial:

Some fans are of the opinion that the Catalan has fumed her head. And it's not for less: her album El mal querer has placed her on popularity charts in English and Spanish and consecrated her as the maximum winner in the last Latin Grammy awards.

It has also earned her the admiration of followers such as the aforementioned Kylie Jenner or the top model Gigi Hadid.
