María Gabriela de Faria is the protagonist of The Moodys (Fox), a series of six episodes that tells of the adventures of the Moody's, a dysfunctional family that comes together to celebrate Christmas in Chicago. The 27-year-old Venezuelan actress, who shares credits with actors Denis Leary, Elizabeth Perkins, Chelsea Frei and Jay Baruchel, spoke exclusively with People en Español about this series that premiered on December 4.
Why do you have to see this show?
There are many reasons why you have to see it. It is a very funny show, it is very emotional. Even filming on set I wanted to laugh, but I also wanted to call my mom and tell her that I loved her.
What is it about?
It tells the story of the Moody family, it is Christmas and all the children return to the parents' house. It is interesting because when one returns to the parents' house one returns to the family dynamics of the past and distant relatives, and the new additions to the family, pets. Many things happen.
The new Latin wave
My character is not Latino, his name is Cora, I did casting five times. Thank God they gave me the paper and they changed it, they made it Venezuelan like me and that had never happened to me. I didn't believe that when my agent called me.
