The stages acclaimed him and he has returned to them. This time to receive an award that comes from the public at the Palacio de las Artes in Valencia, in Spain, for his leading role in Verdi's opera Nabucco. Plácido Domingo was thus returning to his professional life after a summer marked by the accusations of more than twenty women who reported him for sexual harassment.

Tired of the subject, the tenor spoke loudly and clearly giving his version and vision of the events that have involved him in a strong scandal. "The accusations they make to me do not make sense," he said forcefully in an interview with the Spanish newspaper El País.

"In some places you can no longer say anything to a woman," he said, referring to the use of compliment. What was normal before, he points out, is now a danger. "For example, 'what a good suit you are wearing', 'how good you look', that's something you could say thirty years ago, even two years ago", he continues seriously. Not now.

At least in some countries, as he explains referring to the United States, where he has received most of his complaints. Accusations that he categorically denies without hesitation. He has always deeply respected women, whom he admires and dedicates heartfelt words in this interview.

“We all come from one, we are children of a mother. That is the best that can be said of a woman”, he explains. To the question of then why do so many and all coincide? He is convinced that it is nothing more than a plot against him. "It is very easy today to take it with someone with whom you do not like and who spread falsehoods."
