Since yesterday, Puerto Rico has been paying tribute to Walter Mercado in a funeral full of emotions and much, much love, that feeling that he always promoted in his interventions.
Her service, held at the Puerto Rico Memorial Funeral Home, was as advertised, filled with white, red, and yellow flowers, her favorite colors. With the coffin open, the renowned astrologer wore one of his star capes.
The chapel was adorned with photos of Walter and even a video was projected with the most special moments of his life and career. Although it was a quiet and crowd-free farewell, personalities like Lin Manuel Miranda or actress Alida Arizmendi wanted to say goodbye to their friend and family.
Her brother, Henry Mercado, confessed what his last prediction was hours before he died. "When he was in the ambulance he said, 'I'm not coming back.' I mean, he sensed that."
He was not mistaken. Walter left us on November 2 at the age of 87 after suffering kidney failure, but he leaves a legacy of good wishes and unforgettable moments that will be eternal in our memory. His niece Aida Benet told the Al Rojo Vivo program that his capes and belongings will be exhibited in a museum so that he will always be remembered.
Before leaving, he prepared the horoscope for the next three months and the predictions to end the year, according to his other niece, Betty. Thank you so much Walter, always in our hearts.
