Jennifer Lopez To Receive CFDA Fashion Icon Award

It is not a secret that one of the best dressed artists is Jennifer López and that is a position that the singer has earned. From her beginnings in the fashion world, she began to cause a sensation with her curves as well as looks like the now famous green Versace dress with which she arrived at the Grammy Awards in 2000. Since then there has been no carpet to which López has assisted in not stealing the show. In fact, she is always first on the list of the best dressed. So it is no surprise that the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) has decided this year to recognize it as the Fashion Icon award, the first Latina to be recognized with such an important award.

"Jennifer Lopez's style is bold, uninhibited and always memorable," said Steven Kolb, president of the organization, in a statement. "The designers and many of the CFDA members love to dress her up both for the stage and for her most private moments."

Of that we have no doubt, what we ask ourselves is how it was so long without López receiving this recognition? And the Diva from the Bronx never ceases to amaze us with the spectacular outfits she chooses to go through the most important rugs in Hollywood, as well as the pieces she uses to simply go out to dinner with her partner or celebrate her family's birthday. López always leaves us speechless with her imposing, sexy and elegant style.

"Jennifer Lopez uses form in a way that expresses security and power," said designer Diane Von Furstenberg, who is a member of the institution. "Both fans and designers are looking forward to their fashion outfits."

Celebrities like Beyoncé and Rihanna have also received such important recognition.
