It has happened to all of us that when we are stressed we start biting our nails. Many times one does not even realize it, and other times although you are aware, you cannot stop doing it. What a bore!
Also, biting our nails can damage the skin around the nail, making it more susceptible to bacterial infections and can make it take longer for the nail to grow back.
Celebrity manicurist Rachel Shim, who works with celebrities like model Coco Rocha and actress Diane Kruger, shared with us her tips for kicking off this nasty habit.
Get a manicure a week to control your cuticles: when you have your nails and cuticles well groomed, you will less desire to bite them
2. Use a product that doesn't bite you: a nail polish that tastes particularly bad will keep you away from your nails. Put it on top of normal enamel or natural nail. Try the Dermelect./p> Resist Nail Bite Inhibitor + Restorative Treatment>
3. Keep the nails short: it is recommended to leave them at finger level, as this will make them look well cared for and it will be more difficult to have something to bite on. It is always better to keep them short and clean.
4. Keep in mind how unhygienic the habit is: think of all the bacteria we carry under our nails, and think that all of this goes to your mouth when you bite into them. In addition to being a lousy habit, it could affect your health.
Follow these tips and soon you will have impact nails!
