Victoria's Secret Model Joan Smalls Makes Lingerie For Walmart

After parading for the lingerie giant for 6 seasons, Joan Smalls has just announced that she will design her own line of swimwear and underwear, as confirmed by Instyle magazine.

It is a collaboration with Walmart's lingerie and swimwear line, Smart & Sexy, of which Puerto Rican beauty is the image this season and that will be released in the spring of next year.

"I fell in love with the brand and the fact that they design for women of all sizes and at an affordable price," Smalls explained to the Business of Fashion portal. “ Ariela Balk [executive director and founder of the brand] really impressed me and I have great admiration for her as a businesswoman. In terms of design, we agree on many aspects and we are both very excited about the collaboration.”

Balk for his part highlighted the good fashion criteria of the model and her willingness to work together. “She understands that you have to make women of all kinds of shape look pretty. She also shares the philosophy that you not only make a piece because it has been seen on the catwalk and is now the fashionable garment of the moment.”

From Busisness of Fashion they confirm that Ariela Balk herself explained that her underwear is made in the same factories as Victoria's Secret, but they can afford to sell at lower prices - less than $ 15 for a bra - because they distribute them in Walmart's 4,000 stores.
