The talented actress Salma Hayek never seems to get old, and now we know that it is not from the use of cosmetic injections. "I don't believe in Botox because it makes your face not move," Hayek tells Dujour and reaffirms her position that beauty and plastic surgery do not necessarily go hand in hand. "And [aside] it's something you have to do for the rest of your life, and each time you have to do it more and more."

She partly attributes the fact that she is aging naturally to the reason why she was given the opportunity to play the character of Beatriz in her next movie, Beatriz at Dinner. “At some point [in the movie], [director Miguel] Arteta focuses the camera on my face for a long period of time. Suddenly I thought that people were going to get bored: I didn't have makeup on and the light was bad on purpose. But I felt liberated when I looked ugly - imagine freedom. You don't have to spend time on hair and makeup. You don't have to sleep the night before, you don't have to wear masks. It was very cute. They would never have given me the role of Beatriz if she had done something to my face”.

Hayek, who is now 50 years old, also explains that she does not want to do something to her face because of the love she has for her husband François-Henri Pinault. “Look, if there was anything you could do to keep yourself looking good, I would. But I'm in love with my husband, and I want to look like a beautiful woman in my 70s. I want him to see me and think, 'Okay, my wife is old, but there's still beauty there.'”
