Michael Costello, former Project Runway contestant on the program, is one of the favorite designers of many of our beloved stars. He has dressed many celebrities such as Jennifer López, Galilea Montijo, Beyoncé and Clarissa Molina to name a few. In this New York Fashion Week we attended his show to see the incredible proposals of his new Spring / Summer 2017 collection, as well as the beauty looks that accompanied the outfits.

Known for his sexy and feminine designs that evoke the style of a modern and bold woman, Costello did not disappoint with a collection that echoes several of his winning silhouettes - ethereal gauze dresses, tight-fitting glitter suits, the use of ruffles, capes and sleeves baggy- but in shades of red, garnet, green and black. Also, the use of tulle and brocade gave a certain theatrical air to several of her looks.

As for the beauty look, makeup artist Edward Cruz explained that the inspiration behind the look was a botanical garden at midnight. "Michael did not want a traditional look, but something more fun and editorial," explained the expert. "We use neutral base tones, then at the ends of the eyelid we add fuchsia and purples, and then at the center we put gold glitter to give it a multi-dimensional look."

The look of the lips, according to him, is much more precise than that of the eyes. "The only perfection in this look, if it comes to lines, is the lips," said Cruz. The makeup artist used thick eyeliner to start, then filled in the lips with a thinner eyeliner for a more solid look, and added a layer of glitter to the finish. It is common for the runways to highlight either the eyes or the lips, but in this case both were highlighted. "I think we definitely broke some barriers," said Cruz with a smile.
