We spoke with Colombian-born actress Diane Guerrero about her style and beauty secrets to always look radiant. Take note of what the star of series like Jane the Virgin and Orange is the New Black advises you.

How do you define your style?

I like to experiment with everything. When I feel sexy I like to put on plaster shirts. I like to show the back and shoulders more, instead of the chest. Something that looks very feminine, very delicate. I don't always follow trends. I like to combine everything. I don't follow any rules, nor do I wear what everyone is wearing if I don't like it.

What clothes do you invest in?

Shoes. I don't like having many, but the ones I have [have to be] good, that last me. I honestly buy them according to design. I like Jimmy Choo, Alexander Wang, Christian Louboutin. But I also buy some flip flops from Zara if I like them a lot. I like to mix [brands]. If it's a jacket that will last me for years, I don't mind spending the money. I like timeless pieces.

You have beautiful skin. How do you take care of yourself in terms of beauty?

It is important to me to make small facials at home. I also really like Korean snail masks. Those are available online or at one of the stores in the Korean neighborhood. I like them for collagen. It leaves my face very hydrated.

And as for makeup?

I like to be as natural as I can because I want my mom to see me in a photo and recognize me (laughs). I am one of those who collect lipsticks and products. I love it but I get a little bit. Sometimes I wear something more dramatic.

Do you have any hair care tips?

I wash it every three days. I try not to always blow-dry it. Many times I let it air. That has helped me a lot with split ends. That and I also cut my ends every two months.

How do you feel about the good reception that the second season of Jane The Virgin has had?

It is a dream to be able to participate in a series like Jane. My colleagues are extremely talented and have a lot to give. Being with them day after day doing the show is very rich. Gina is a spectacular person, with a very open heart. It is a very nice story to tell. The third season I don't know what's going to happen but I feel like it's going to be very successful.
