Colombian Andrea Minski serves as co-presenter of the show SOS: Salva mi casa de Telemundo, a job that combines with her blog Mujer Balance, her family life, her passion for exercise and running her own company, among many other activities. We spoke with her to learn how to achieve a balance between all those facets and, incidentally, to give us some useful tips for the Christmas holidays.

How is your experience as a host in SOS: Save my house (Telemundo) ?

I feel very fortunate to meet so many Latino families and help them transform their homes. In addition to the families we visit, I love that viewers learn how to renovate their homes and have a better quality of life.

In the show you also give very practical tips for the home, are you really that skillful behind the scenes?

I am a determined woman, always ready to learn. Practice makes perfect and in the show I have learned a lot. I love decoration, it is like fashion; with a little creativity you can do wonders.

In addition to co-hosting the show, you are a blogger, mom, businesswoman, lover of physical exercise … how do you find balance in your life?

I find the balance in giving each facet the importance it requires. My family comes first, being a mom is the greatest gift in my life, my children and my husband fill me with joy. The blog is a passion, in it I capture the advice that is useful to life for multifaceted women and I apply it in mine.

Precisely your website is called balance woman, what can we find in it?

It was born as a platform dedicated to all women who seek their own balance, it is a matter of each person, their interests and their history. It is a community of women who want to learn from each other. I invite you to browse our 7 sections and find those with which you identify. [In the blog there are sections on] fashion, cooking, decoration, technology, exercise, parenting and women balance of the week.

Why did you decide to create the blog?

When Ari, my second child, was born, I felt that I had many responsibilities as a mom, as a wife, as an entrepreneur, and as a woman. It seemed to me that practical information was needed for real women who want to be happy, that we do everything to get ahead, to help our families and that we also want to look pretty, be fit and enjoy the wonder of being women.

Now let's talk about tips. A fashion trick to be ready in a few minutes?

Always have the classics in your closet to mix them. Invest in jeans that look fabulous, in good black pants and a skirt that makes you feel the most beautiful in the class, so you can combine these classics with inexpensive pieces that change with fashion.

And a tip of beauty?

If you have long hair, the fastest and easiest hairstyle for me to do is to braid yourself on the side and run it over your head like a crown, adjust it with hooks, put on an accessory and you will be like a Greek goddess in seconds.

A tip to give a more cozy touch to our house, now that the dates of family celebrations arrive

Choose a wall and add a touch of color, painting is a very easy change to make that makes a big difference. Put on a couple of new cushions, buy a seedling, and transplant it into a pretty pot. And finally, a nice surprise for the family is to have a wall with photos that tell your family story, you can buy sale photo frames and paint them with spray paint and print the photos in black and white to give it a special touch.

For all of us who complain about having little time, what 3 things do not allow excuses when it comes to staying?

1. Balanced diet. Your body is your machine, so feed it so that it lasts like a new life. The important thing is to plan.

2. Exercise. It is necessary to include it in our life, if you feel that you do not have enough time, you can divide your training throughout the day. How about 20 minutes of exercise before bathing in the morning and another 20 after work?

3. The family. There is no excuse for not spending time with our family. Look for spaces where they talk about the day they had, thank them for the valuable things that life gives us, where they laugh out loud, where they enjoy a delicious meal together, where there is physical activity …

When it comes to physical exercise, what kinds of routines are good for busy moms?

To be in shape you don't need a lot of time, but determination and perseverance. With a couple of gallons of water or even cans of beans that you use as weights, you can be toned. My children are often my weights or who count my repetitions so I involved them in my routines. I like exercises that work the whole body, for example while doing squats, working arms at the same time.

A message about how you can get to everything based on your experience

You can achieve everything you set out to do, just not everything at the same time, be patient everything comes when it has to. The keys: getting up every day with the best attitude, you cannot change problems or difficulties, but you can change the way you face them, believe in yourself and work hard, help others, love yourself, fix yourself, feel special because you are and enjoy being a woman in this century because it is a privilege.
