Gina Rodríguez sets out on a new adventure in the fashion world, joining Colombian Catalina Girarld, founder of the Naja underwear brand, a company that is also dedicated to empowering women.
The company, which produces its merchandise without damaging the environment, employs single mothers who work from home so as not to neglect their children.
“Joining Naja was not a difficult decision. Not only is the underwear beautiful and well made, but the foundation and the company are perfectly aligned with my heart,”said series star Jane of Virgin (The CW) in a press release. “Naja makes you feel as beautiful on the inside as on the outside. This is our mission and that is what we are going to do.”
Each piece of Naja is made from a recycled material from plastic bottles and is designed for all types of bodies.
Through the Underwear for Hope program, the company also offers sewing courses to needy women to then employ and give them a chance to get ahead.
"When I discovered that Naja employs single mothers and gives her the opportunity to provide for their families while working from home, I asked how she could be part of [the company]," the actress said in the letter.
