Tennis Player Maria Sharapova Is The Image Of The New Avon Fragrance (VIDEO)

With a renowned career as an athlete, businesswoman, philanthropist and model, tennis player Maria Sharapova becomes the image of Luck, the new fragrance for women and men from the Avon house.

"I am excited to represent [the perfume] Luck, a fragrance that reminds us that we should really savor and enjoy our triumphs," says the Russian tennis player in a statement. "I have been incredibly lucky in life and I love being able to partner with a company that encourages women around the world to fulfill their dreams."

In the behind-the-scenes video, Sharapova adds that for women, "It's not only important to feel self-confident every day, but also to feel lucky."

The colony, available from October, celebrates life's lucky shots, wonderful events and the infinite possibilities that we have every day.

"When we created Avon Luck we wanted to capture the contagious charisma of someone who has created their own lot in life," explains Patricia Perez-Ayala, Avon's chief marketing officer. "As one of the top tennis players in the world ranking, and with sophisticated natural beauty, Maria perfectly captures this sense of energy and possibility."

The perfume will be available on the Avon website and there is a waiting list for the most impatient.
