Sandra Bullock has become a mother for the second time, after adopting Laila, a 3 and a half year old girl from Louisiana.

The Oscar-winning actress revealed the details of her new motherhood during an exclusive interview with People magazine.

"When I saw Laila, there was no doubt in my mind that she was supposed to be here," says Bullock in the recent edition of People, who adopted her first child, Louis, 5, in 2010.

"I can assure you that the right children came to me at the right time," added the Gravity actress.

According to Bullock's account, the process of expanding the family began three years ago, with Louis leading the way. "Louis led this entire journey," he explains.

Although the brothers are now inseparable, in the first moments, after Laila's arrival at the actress's house, many doses of patience and comfort were necessary.

"I knew she was scared, and all I wanted was for her to meet Louis and that I wasn't going anywhere," shares Bullock.

People magazine shows photos of the new family, taken by the actress's boyfriend, photographer Bryan Randall.

“My family is diverse, crazy, full of love and understanding. That's my family, concludes Bullock.
