Chelsea Clinton is now ready to start her new life as a mother. Three days after the birth of her first-born Charlotte, the result of her marriage to Marc Mezvinsky, the 34-year-old first-time mother left the Lenox Hill Hospital in New York with the baby in her arms.
Former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton accompanied their daughter and looked happy to meet their granddaughter. "Marc and I are very grateful to the Lenox Hill doctors, nurses and team for their excellent care," Chelsea said on her Twitter account Monday after arriving home.
The photo of the Clinton family leaving the hospital recalled the scene of Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton leaving the hospital in London by introducing their son. Chelsea even put on a blue dress similar to the light blue dress with white polka dots that Kate wore on that occasion.
"Marc and I are filled with love, wonder and gratitude as we celebrate the birth of our daughter Charlotte Clinton Mezvinksy," Chelsea tweeted Friday night announcing the baby's arrival. "We are in love".
The famous grandparents also visited the hospital several times and expressed their shock on social networks. "Bill Clinton and I are on the moon of the thrill of being grandparents," Hillary said on Twitter. "It is one of the happiest moments of our lives." Bill wrote to his granddaughter on Twitter: "Charlotte, your grandmother Hillary Clinton and I could not be happier."
