Coronavirus: Eighth Confirmed Case In The United States

The expansion of the dreaded coronavirus continues in the United States, a country that has already declared this outbreak as a public health emergency. This new virus has already claimed more than three hundred lives in China and an estimated fifteen thousand cases of confirmed patients in the country are estimated.

The last case of coronavirus in the USA was confirmed today. A 20-year-old recently returned from the Wuhan area, where the disease originated, and sought medical assistance in Boston shortly after returning from his trip, the Massachusetts Department of Health said earlier today.

"He has been isolated since then and will continue to be isolated until decided by public health officials," said the official report, in addition to asserting that his closest contacts were being monitored in case anyone suffered from the symptoms related to the outbreak.

Experts recommend, in addition to not traveling to the area where the outbreak originated, to avoid physical contact with patients and often wash their hands with soap and water.

The virus spreads much like a normal flu, so patients are asked to cover their nose and mouth when sneezing or coughing with a tissue or forearm. If covered with hands, then wash them with soap and water immediately afterward.

The Association of Flight Attendants, which has some fifty thousand professionals spread across twenty airlines, is calling for "the United States government to close all flights to China until the coronavirus outbreak is contained."
