Teacher Accused Of Sexually Abusing 17-year-old Student In Maryland

A teacher in the state of Maryland has been arrested after being accused of sexually abusing and smoking marijuana with a teenage student.

In an investigation conducted since early March by the Maryland State Police, it was found that Brittney Lyles, 29, was picking up one of the 17-year-olds in her vehicle to take him to a place where they were having sexual encounters.

According to information released on the police website, the incident occurred in Kent County where Lyles was working as a teacher in the Alternative Schools Program at the time of the alleged incidents that, according to the investigation, occurred outside of school..

Police said they found a video on the phone of the young man of both having intimate relationships and photos of Lyles in the shower, which she allegedly sent the young man, according to People.

Court documents obtained by Cabal 47ABC indicate that Lyles allegedly met the student on more than one occasion to have sex and smoke marijuana.

The woman was arrested last Friday and fired from her job on March 2. She is currently behind bars in the Talbot County Detention Center awaiting a hearing to determine her bail. It is unclear if she was the teenager's teacher, but it was clarified that she was not an employee of the Kent County Public Schools, according to police reports.
