New Details In Case Of Teacher Accused Of Sexual Abuse Of Minor Student

New details come to light of the case of Brittany Zamora, 28, the sixth-grade teacher accused of sexually abusing one of her 13-year-old students in Arizona. Police allege that the teacher posted an educational video to entertain the rest of the class while she and her alleged victim were secretly groping around in the back of the room, according to documents obtained by the Arizona Republic.

Maricopa County Police released various documents, videos and screenshots related to the case this week. Much of this evidence allegedly paints Zamora as a woman who took advantage of her role as a teacher to sexually abuse a minor. In an interview with the police, the boy allegedly said that the teacher was commenting on the size of his genitals.

According to police interviews, the alleged victim and a friend stayed after school hours at Las Brisas Academy, where they were studying, to prepare for a talent show. When the two teens were alone with Zamora in their living room, they alleged to the officers that Zamora started kissing the 13-year-old boy and asked his friend to stay in the room and watch that no one entered while they were having sex.

"They were doing it," the 13-year-old boy's friend alleged to the police. "It was very uncomfortable." The next day the teacher and the 13-year-old allegedly asked the friend again to watch while they were having sex, but he declined to be a witness again.

Police also released a series of raucous text messages, expressing sexual desire, between the teacher and the student. The student's stepmother told police that she had noticed the young man acting strange and closing the door to his room at night. She said she had installed a monitoring system on the boy's cell phone, receiving alerts whenever he received an inappropriate text message. When she confronted him, the teenager allegedly admitted to having had sex with Zamora, details police reports.

Zamora released the state certificate that allowed him to teach in December and remains in the Maricopa County Jail on $ 250,000 bail, according to public court records. The teacher has pleaded not guilty to the charges against her and her lawyer has yet to respond to PEOPLE.
