Woman Was Killed By Boyfriend She Met On The Internet

Haley Lorenzen, 24, was reported missing by her boyfriend in December. The young woman's body was found in July by police, who accuse 32-year-old Phillip Walters - whom she met online - of murdering her. Haley's family and friends held a vigil last weekend to remember her.

The attractive young woman had moved from her home in Falls, Pennsylvania, to Oregon to live with Walters at her home in Mill City. Haley fell in love with Walters after meeting him online and moved in with him in November 2018. Soon after, in December, he reported her missing.

Authorities allege that Walters killed Lorenzen and dumped his body in a nearby river. His body was not found until July 2019. Another woman with whom Walters allegedly had a love affair told police that Walters had killed Lorenzen. The man now faces murder charges but has pleaded not guilty.

"She was so beautiful, so beautiful, with a big heart," her aunt Traci Domínguez said of Haley to KGW8 during the vigil in her honor. "Haley was very funny, very enthusiastic, she had a lot of life yet to live," added her aunt, regretting her loss. "It is tragic."

Haley's family hopes to return to their Oregon home in November when Walters' trial begins. "When we see snow, we all think of her," her aunt concluded. "She loved the snow."
