Boy Was Killed By His Father, Who Later Committed Suicide

Upon arriving at an apartment in Lone Tree, Colorado, police found a tragedy. On September 21, according to a police report obtained by PEOPLE, officers found the bodies of an adult and a minor. "We are investigating this as homicide and suicide," authorities reported.

The coroner identified the bodies, belonging to Anthony Tesoriero, 48, and his son Ty, 10. How they died will not be revealed until the case is fully investigated and the results of their autopsies are revealed. However, several local media, such as The Denver Channel, report that both received bullet wounds.

Now Ty's mother - and Anthony's ex-wife - has broken the silence, saying she tried many times to save her son, but authorities were unable to help her. According to reports, Jing Tesoriero warned numerous times to the police, the court and the department of protection to the child that the father had violated their custody agreement. According to her, her ex-husband was staying with the boy longer than the one stipulated by the court, and was brainwashing the boy, turning him against his mother. "There were so many agencies involved, so many," the mother told The Denver Channel. "I begged them, I spoke to them, I tried to convince them to do something."

According to the Denver Post, the shooting happened less than 24 hours after the ex-partner met in court, and the judge was planning to give full custody of the child to the mother. Jing says she received an email from her ex-husband saying, "When you finish reading this, Ty will be only a few minutes away from going with me to the Hereafter."

Police found both dead in the apartment. Apparently the father killed Ty and then committed suicide. "I am heartbroken," the mother assured the Denver Channel. "I have no words, I feel angry, sad, full of regrets." The family has created a GoFundMe account to help pay for funeral services.
