Arkansas authorities are still unclear how a man killed his two children and then killed himself.

The bodies of Robert Mangan, 39, and his two children - one 5-year-old and the other 4- - were found by Mangan's wife and mother of the children. The woman found the three dead bodies in the bed at home, explains the People note.

A statement from the Little Rock, Arkansas police indicates that the woman had asked the husband to care for the children the night before because she had to be away. A peculiar fact of the case is that the authorities explained that the children did not receive bullet wounds or show any type of trauma to the body, the article states. It is still unknown how Mangan killed himself.

According to a police statement, which reports People, Mangan's wife indicated that the couple had recently separated. It appears that the marriage had a history of domestic violence by the husband. A local newspaper, Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, exposed that a court had prohibited Mangan from contacting his wife.

Mangan had even been arrested by the police when his wife informed authorities that during an argument between the couple - while they were in the car - Mangan smashed her head against the dashboard of the car. Also, last week Mangan's wife had called 911 to report that her husband was allegedly trying to break into the home.
