Germán Lizárraga will be operated on after suffering an accident while traveling to Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico, where he lives. According to reports released in the press, the leader of the Banda Estrellas de Sinaloa slipped and fell into a canal causing a hip injury.

Through a statement, the band confirmed the accident that Lizárraga suffered on Thursday and detailed what happened after staying stranded on the bus where they were traveling, due to a blockade of peasants on the road they were driving. The musician tried to find out what was happening, so he got off the bus and it was there that he slipped and injured, the Mexican press reported.

After the accident, Lizárraga was transferred to a hospital in the state of Hidalgo, where he remains under observation.

Through a video posted on social networks, the older brother of Alfonso 'Poncho' Lizárraga, leader of Banda El Recodo, announced that despite the incident, he is in good health.

"Fortunately they are taking care of me and tomorrow they are going to operate on me," the musician told Al Rojo Vivo with María Celeste (Telemundo). "All is calm. I really appreciate that you are worrying about me.”

After the operation, Lizárraga must remain at rest before returning to her usual work.

For its part, the band assured that in the absence of its leader, it will continue its schedule to fulfill the commitments previously acquired. His next place: Chiapas, where they will continue their musical tour.
