Teacher Who Abused Student Asked Not To Involve Police

Brittany Zamora is in an Arizona state jail after being sentenced to 20 years in prison for having sex with one of her students, a 13-year-old boy in sixth grade.

During her sentence, the 28-year-old former educator apologized for her actions and apologized to the victim and her family. But in a phone conversation - recorded by the boy's father before Zamora's arrest - she begged him to solve the case without police intervention, according to PEOPLE.

"Can you explain, can we meet to talk about this? Can we fix it out [of court],”Zamora asked the teenager's father, according to a recording obtained by the azfamily.com site.

The minor's father did not accept and replied sarcastically: "Sure, that's what we can do, to give you the opportunity to do it to another child."

On the call, Zamora's husband reportedly picked up the phone to speak to the boy's father and assures him that the teacher and her son did not have sex. But he was adamant that the truth would come out. "You will know the truth in a few days," said the father to Zamora's husband. "Your wife decided to be a monster and take advantage of a child, she mentally marked my son."

Zamora, a professor at Las Brisas Academy in Phoenix, AZ, eventually pleaded guilty to the charges against her. Her relationship with the minor occurred between February 1 and March 8, 2018 and, according to press reports, Zamora sent him nude photos of her and had sexual relations with him on different occasions.
