Cardi B pleaded not guilty in court Tuesday to assault charges stemming from a fight at a New York strip club in August.
The Grammy-winning rapper, whose first name is Belcalis Almanzar, appeared in the New York Supreme Court in the borough of Queens, where she was indicted on a multiple indictment including two counts of felony and attempted assault.
Fans of the artist gathered outside the court with banners of "Free Cardi" to receive her at her entrance to the courthouse.
The Bronx native faces multiple charges, including reckless danger, criminal offense, conspiracy, harassment, and assault, as well as two felony counts of attempted assault with the intent to cause serious physical injury.
Cardi, 26, turned herself in to New York City police last October after a complaint claimed she was involved in a fight with two sisters in August at the Angels NYC nightclub in Queens. Reportedly, the fight broke out because Cardi suspected that one of the two sisters, who are both bartenders at the club, was sleeping with her husband, Offset, who was at the club that night.
Cardi did not comment to the press after leaving court.
