Residents of Los Angeles, California have nothing to worry about after being alarmed to see a bright firelight descend from the sky toward their city. On Wednesday night, Angelenos invaded social networks questioning the fireball that seemed to fall with a meteorite-like speed.

To the dismay of its residents, the Los Angeles Police Department was forced to explain that what was falling from the sky was not an invasion by aliens.

“A meteorite did not crash in downtown Los Angeles, and no, it is not an invasion by aliens… it is just the filming of a movie. After all, this is Tinseltown,”the agency wrote on its Twitter account.

However, the spirits did not calm down and the photos and videos of the event continued to emerge. However, the makers of the Red Bull drink took responsibility for what happened and issued a statement explaining the phenomenon.

Red Bull assured that its Red Bull Air Force team celebrated the third and last super moon, with the striking descent of four paratroopers from a helicopter at 4,000 feet.

"To add a touch of the Hollywood sparkle, the suits were outfitted with LED lights and pyrotechnic sparks, which lit the sky at night as the sun went down and the supermoon grew," the company said.

According to Red Bull, the paratroopers descended at more than 120 miles per hour, returning the tranquility of the Angelenos.
