Uncle Accused Of Murdering Three-year-old Niece

A three-year-old girl died in Kentucky after allegedly having her throat cut by her uncle in front of her brothers, PEOPLE confirmed. Josephine Bulubenchi was playing with four of her brothers when Emanuel Fluter, her maternal uncle, allegedly grabbed her and cut her neck.

As reported by Clinton County Sheriff Jim Guffey, the girl's father heard her screams from a baby monitor and ran to the room to help her. There he saw that the girl's maternal uncle had attacked him. The father tried to disarm him but he also received a hand wound and was too late to avoid the tragedy. The girl was taken by ambulance to the hospital and died the following day.

Fluter, 33, faces murder charges and is in jail on $ 1 million bail. When the man was arrested, the police alleged that he was very aggressive and the photo of his arrest could not be taken. The sheriff told reporters that Josephine's death was "the most horrendous crime" she had seen in her 15 years of work. It has not yet been revealed what motivated the uncle to allegedly commit the crime of which she is accused.
