Luis Alfredo Garavito, alias “el Bestia,” the serial killer who killed nearly 200 children in Colombia, could be released in 2023, according to a report by Primer Impacto (Univision). To deceive his victims, the man disguised himself as a monk or a street vendor, offering them sweets or money to go with him.

According to him, the voice of the Devil ordered him to rape, torture and murder some 192 minors. His murders began in 1992 and he did not stop until he was arrested in 1999. For seven years he terrorized the people of Colombia, where they found various graves of corpses with the remains of the missing children. "I did not do it because I wanted to, there was a force within me," the assassin told Colombian authorities.

The man killed children between the ages of 6 and 16, torturing them to death. He also collected articles in the press that spoke of the disappearance of his victims. Many of the bodies of their victims were not found.

Garavito alleged that he had been a victim of violence and sexual abuse as a child. At 35, he began his crime wave and confessed his guilt after being captured at 42. The feared serial killer could be released in 2023 after serving a 24-year prison sentence, according to reports. The possibility of his release at age 68 has outraged and filled the families of his victims with pain.
