The Alleged Murderer Of The Mother Of His Two Children Is Arrested

A 24-year-old young Hispanic mother passed away was shot dead and in front of her own mother outside her Brooklyn home leaving her two orphaned children. Police have now detained her ex-boyfriend as the prime suspect in the horrific cold-blooded murder.

Sade Sánchez walked with her mother and a friend outside her home, located on Menahan Street, in the Bushwick neighborhood.

According to the police, that was the moment when Gabriel Rivera, 26, approached and shot him in the shoulder, chest, stomach and neck. Sánchez was immediately taken to the Wyckoff Heights Medical Center where she died.

Rivera surrendered to authorities and was taken to Brooklyn Precinct No. 83 where he is awaiting formal charges.

The couple had two children, ages 3 and 6. According to relatives who spoke to the local newspaper The New York Post, Sánchez had had a lot of trouble with her ex-boyfriend and requested a restraining order against him a week ago, although it is unclear if it was granted.

"She was here last night before everything happened," Frank Morel, the owner of a store near the scene, told the aforementioned newspaper. "Then I closed the store and heard gunshots." The man assures that the victim was a very good and attentive mother with her children "I always said I love you, I bought them sweets".

"Things have not been going well for a while," Diana Santos, the victim's aunt, told the source. "She recently decided that she had had enough and that she couldn't take it anymore."

Apparently, on the Saturday before her death, the young mother called 911 after her ex threw her to the ground, right where she was shot the next day.

The detainee had a prior criminal history dating back to his adolescence, as according to the police, he was arrested on four previous occasions for crimes that included robbery, assault and criminal conduct.
