A new shooting has left the state of Florida mourning, this time the victims were participants in a video game tournament that was taking place in the city of Jacksonville.
Following the attack by David Katz, a 24-year-old who was also participating in the event, two people were killed and eleven more were injured.
Through a statement shared by local authorities on their social networks, the names of the two young men who lost their lives after the assault were revealed: Elijah Clayton, 22, and Taylor Robertson, 28.

Although the reasons that led Katz to carry out the attack against his fellow video game fans are still unknown, statements by Alexander Madunic, one of the people who were injured, revealed that the killer was upset that he had lost one of tournament games. "He was angry about it, so I think it had something to do with it," Madunic told CNN.
Additional information on the current status of the 11 people who were also injured adds that four of them have already been discharged from the hospital. Two others are still hospitalized, one of which is in a delicate condition due to injuries.
This new shooting becomes the third event of this type that the state of Florida has had to experience in recent years. In 2016, 49 people were killed in an Orlando city nightclub and in early 2018, 17 more died after an attack at a Parkland city high school.
