The army will honor three young reservists who lost their lives during the shooting that occurred on February 14 at a Parkland, Florida school.

Alaina Petty, Peter Wang and Martín Duque - the latter born in Guerrero, Mexico - died along with 14 other people in the shooting carried out by 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz, in the vicinity of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas School of Higher Studies.

The boys were part of the Reserve Officers' Youth Training Corps (JROTC), and they will be honored for their heroism during the terrible incident that has rocked the country.

Petty's family, 14, already received the medal during his funeral, held on Monday, while Wang's family, 15, received the medal on Tuesday. For their part, relatives of the 14-year-old Mexican will receive their respective distinction next Saturday, when her funeral is celebrated.
