A recently reported 911 call by KHQ television shows the terror a 7-year-old boy lived in Washington when he found his mother and uncle dead. The crime happened two years ago. "Someone killed my mommy," says the boy, identified as Cooper Kolbet, on the recording. "Please come and call the police, please come here," adds the heartbroken boy. When asked for the address, the little boy replies, "I'm at my uncle Danny's house."

According to Spokane Valley Police, on August 15, 2016, Brenda Kolbet Kenison and Daniel Kenison - Cooper's mother and uncle, were killed while the boy was outside the home in his mother's car. The boy saw the killer, who had already escaped when the police arrived. "Gilbert came and killed my mom and my uncle Danny," he says on the 911 call.

The following day, Gilberto Delgado, a former boyfriend of his mother, was arrested in Idaho. Police reported that the man had Brenda's name tattooed on his forearm. According to a statement from the authorities, Delgado was accused of both deaths. The man is still in a Spokane County jail and his trial is scheduled for October, according to KHQ.

Lance Kolbet, the boy's father and Brenda's ex-husband, told KHQ that on the day of the murder Delgado had allegedly gone to the house and followed Brenda into the house with her while Cooper watched from the car. Soon Delgado left the house and the boy found the lifeless bodies of his loved ones, Lance said.

Brenda's ex-husband added to the local newspaper Spokesman-Review, that the boy's uncle was allegedly in the shower when he heard the shots and could not do much to defend himself. According to what he told the newspaper, the relationship between Brenda and Delgado was short and she had left him upon learning of his criminal history. "My theory is that when she realized who this guy was … I have no doubt that she was trying to distance herself from him," Lance concluded.
