Some Brooklyn residents lived in a horror scene in New York after they discovered the dismembered body of a woman in Canarsie Park, located in the area known as Jamaica Bay.
As reported on the online site of People magazine, on Monday the authorities arrived at the scene after several passers-by reported the macabre situation.
Police officers who arrived at the scene found the woman's lifeless body, which had mutilated her limbs. The agencies in charge of the investigation have not yet determined what could have been the causes of the death of the victim.
One of the people who alerted the police to the presence of the body in the park was a woman identified as Patricia Smith, who stumbled upon the horrendous scene while walking with her dog.
"When I was walking I looked to the left and saw something that looked like a garbage bag … but when I passed and looked closely I realized that it was a dismembered body, so I ran away," Smith revealed in conversation with the local news channel. News 12 Brooklyn.
Robert Clouden, another local resident who also became aware of the body's presence, assured The New York Daily News that he initially did not think it was a woman's body when he saw it. I thought it was a doll. She had no clothes … All I saw was a torso. I didn't see legs or anything else. The body was small, so I thought it was a doll.
