Little Lucas Warren, just one year old, has become the sweet news of the day, not only because he was chosen as the new image of the Gerber brand, but also because he is the first baby with Down syndrome to represent to the brand.
140,000 babies were struggling to keep the honor of being the brand image for 2018, but Lucas, from the city of Dalton in the state of Georgia was selected among the thousands of participants.
"We hope that this will impact everyone, that it will shed some light for the community of people with special needs, that it will help them to be accepted and not limited," shared Jason Warren, proud father of the lucky boy, during his time at the Today Show. "They have the potential to change the world, just like anyone else," he added.
Congratulations to our 2018 spokesperson of the year, Lucas! Welcome to our family, send all your love!”, Wrote the company on its official Instagram account along with a tender image of the little champion.
The boy's mother, Cortney Warren, assured that after deciding to enter the contest, he never expected that his little son would be selected to represent the brand. It seems that the adorable little photo that Lucas sent, smiling and wearing a bow tie, stole all the attention.
"Every year we choose a baby who exemplifies the company's motto that every baby is a Gerber baby," said Bill Partyka, the company's president and CEO. "This year Lucas was the perfect choice."
