Australian model with Down syndrome, Madeline Stuart, manages to break stereotypes and participate in Fashion Week in New York 2015.
Despite suffering from heart problems, Madeline, 18, will parade for FTL Moda on Sunday and will become the second person with Down syndrome on the catwalks of The Big Apple, after actress Jamie Brewer, who became famous for her role in the American Horror Story (FX) television series.
"I support her in her dream, but for me and her it is about spreading love and educating people," Rosanne Stuart, Madeline's mother and representative, told the Spanish agency EFE.
More than a year ago, the words “mom, me, model” were enough, which came out of the mouth of this young woman with limited capacity for oral expression for her mother to decide to fight for her dream. Maddy is now the face of the cosmetics company Glossigirl, among other brands, the proceeds of which are donated to the National Down Syndrome Society.
Maddy is an inspiring model who wants to change the image of people who suffer from the same disease. She has recently been nominated for awards such as "Pride of Australia" or "Young Australian of the Year," and will soon receive the 2015 Melange "Model of the Year" award in San Francisco, according to her website.
CCTV News uploaded an inspiring video of the career of model Madeline Stuart.
