Sofía Jirau is a young Latina with Down syndrome whose personality and charisma have led the way in the fashion world and made one of her biggest dreams come true: participating in a New York Fashion Week show.

The 22-year-old model, born in Puerto Rico, began her professional career last year. Her confidence and passion for modeling have fueled her rapid growth, especially on social media where she has become known in such a competitive industry.

“Yesterday I fulfilled a dream. I was born for this and I want to show the world that I have everything a model needs to shine,”was one of the messages she posted on her Instagram account and shared with her 28,700 followers.

In addition to the photo, Jirau published a video of her catwalk show with this comment: "One day I looked in the mirror and said" I'm going to be a model and I'm going to get to New York "and look here I am. I did it and now I want to model all over the world”.

Jirau has already collaborated with different photographers from Puerto Rico and modeled dresses by renowned designers such as Kelvin Giovannie. On her website, the model claims that she fights not only for her, but also to help others like her.

Jirau also has an online store (arr.) In which he promotes his Alavett brand, a name inspired by one of his favorite phrases: "I love it". The line includes fashion and beauty products and household items, among others.
