Arrested Mother Depriving Of Food And Handcuffing Her 8-year-old Son

Melissa Miranda, 33, was detained by Arkansas state authorities and faces charges of handcuffing her 8-year-old son overnight and also depriving him of food.

As revealed through a report shared by People magazine, authorities arrested the woman and her partner after they received a report about the abuse the boy was being subjected to at home.

Miranda's 17-year-old daughter was then questioned by police and provided evidence of the cruel way her younger brother was repressed, evidence that allowed officers to make the arrest.

During the interrogation of the woman, he confessed that he had decided to deprive the child of eating after he complained about the food she prepared. According to the same mother, for months she did not feed the child at night.

Miranda would also have assured the detectives in charge that he handcuffed the boy at night to a chair in the living room to prevent him from trying to eat some kind of junk food. Since the minor could not go to the bathroom, he made him sleep on a black garbage bag to relieve himself.

The woman and her sentimental partner face charges of second-degree domestic assault, aggravated assault on a family member, kidnapping, tampering with physical evidence, terrorist threats, and jeopardizing the integrity of a minor. The couple is being held at the Washington County Detention Center and a bond of $ 50,000 each was set for them.
