Daytona Beach, Florida authorities found two children in a mobile home after the 911 emergency service received a call from one of them, a three-year-old girl.
The children were left unsupervised with an aggressive dog, and a pistol at hand, according to investigators, the Daytona Beach News Journal reports.
The children's mother, Yajaira Tirado, 26, was arrested Tuesday on two counts of negligence after revealing to authorities that she had left her children alone to go out for coffee with a man on the other side of the park. The children's mother was found in another mobile home at 9:30 a.m. and in her statement she lied to officers saying that she had returned to see her children but they were asleep and went out again for a coffee.
