Girl Is Murdered In Her Home

A 12-year-old girl, Yhoana Arteaga, was "brutally murdered" at her home, Nashville, Tennessee police reported.

This, apparently, occurred shortly after Arteaga sent a text message to his mother indicating that someone was knocking on the door of his house, the People note notes.

Police ask the public to report any clues they may have in order to identify the person who committed the crime on August 10. The Nashville Police Department indicated that they could provide details through the Crime Stoppers helpline.

Likewise, the authorities said, through a statement, that "detectives trust that one or more significant leads will be obtained from the scientific examinations carried out by the MNPD Criminal Laboratory." They also emphasized that scientists and fingerprint experts are investigating a number of fingerprints obtained from the girl's home, where the macabre murder occurred.

Yhoana Arteaga was found dead in her home by members of her family 6:45 pm that Thursday. The People note explains that the girl was alone in the house, on crutches, because she was recovering from an accident that she had had while skating.

The mother of the minor saw her daughter at 12:30 pm and indicated that she contacted her for the last time at 5:30 pm, when she received a text message saying that someone was in the house. Investigators of the case explain that Arteaga's body had a wound and her clothes were disorganized.
