Police Widow Has Son With Frozen Sperm From Husband Dead On Duty

Almost three years after her husband became another police officer who dies on duty in New York, his widow Pei Xia Chen, gave birth on Tuesday to their daughter, whom she called Angelina.

On December 20, 2014 Chen's husband, Wenjian Liu, was inside his patrol along with his partner Rafael Ramos, working in the Brooklyn area, when they were shot dead by an individual named Ismaaiyl Brinsley, who walked towards their car and shot them in cold blood.

Subsequent investigations indicated that Brinsley murdered Liu, 32, and Ramos, 40, as revenge because he believed that there is much police violence against people of color. The two were declared heroes of their department.

Chen, who had only been married for three months when she became a widower, has remained close to her husband's parents, Xiu Yan and Wei Tang Liu. However, she did not tell them of her intention to become a mother, since she did not want to worry them. In fact, the process was not an easy one and required several tries before she finally became pregnant. Only then did she reveal the news.

Her in-laws, who emigrated from China about thirteen years ago to the United States, and had only had one child, Officer Liu, were with her at the time of her delivery. And it is not difficult to imagine the happiness they are experiencing. As reported by Daily News, the mother of the deceased police officer stated that when she saw her granddaughter, she was “simply very happy”.

The excited grandmother also said that little Angelina looks a lot like her dad: "I see my daughter in her," she stressed.
