Musician Accused Of Abusing Women

Rapper Robert R Kelly, known for hits like "I believe I can Fly", has been accused of controlling female aspiring singers in a "religious cult."

According to an investigation by Buzzfeed News, Kelly kept six women, including adolescents, under his control in his properties in Atlanta and Chicago, where he recorded them having sexual acts to "show his friends."

One of the mothers of the alleged victims, whose identities have not been released, explained that she confided her daughter to Kelly two years ago, but after a long period of absence, when she saw her again in December 2016, she was changed.

“It was as if his brain had been brainwashed. She looked like a prisoner, it was horrible,”she said. "I hugged her and hugged her. But she was just saying she was in love and [Kelly] is the only one who cares. I do not know what to do. I hope that if I get her back, I can get her treatment for cult victims. They can reprogram it. But I wish I had stopped it from the beginning."

After that occasion, he has only received two text messages from his daughter. One for the Christmas holidays in which he said "I hate that Christmas has to be this way this year" and the other on May 14: "Happy Mother's Day from Rob and me."

According to family members, who describe R Kelly as an "intensely controlling" person, the musician dictated how apprentices should dress, behave, and even ask permission to eat or use the bathroom, in addition to confiscating their cell phones.

According to BuzzFeed, authorities in Illinois and Georgia say they have found no evidence against the rapper after checking the status of the women. One of the applicants told police that "he did not like to disturb his parents."

Linda Mensch, R Kelly's attorney, has denied the allegations. "We cannot imagine why people insist on smearing a great artist, who works 24 hours a day, seven days a week and takes into account all the people in his life."

R Kelly has been accused on previous occasions of having sexual relations with minors.
