A woman has been charged with murder, among other charges, in connection with the death of an 8-month-old baby in her care at a nursery in Baltimore, MD, a tragedy that was apparently recorded on video.

According to People, little girl Reese Bowman was found dead a week ago in her crib at the Rocket Tiers Learning Center. When the police arrived, the employee who was caring for her, Leah Walden, informed them that she had put the baby to nap after feeding her and later found her lifeless.

However, surveillance footage obtained by authorities the next day seemed to contradict Walden, 23, as they showed her while apparently covering the baby's head with multiple blankets and rocking her violently while holding her by her limbs.

In other segments of the video, the woman walks off camera with the little girl, making it impossible to know what happened there. However, the Baltimore police said "what can happen" can be assumed.

"Watching that video is disturbing," Baltimore Police Chief of Criminal Investigations Stanley Brandford told the local CBS affiliate. "In my opinion, Reese Bowman was tortured."

The agent said that the causes for which he had tortured the little girl are unknown. For now, the defendant is being held without bail and it is not known if she has a lawyer or will reach an agreement with the prosecution.
