A father is in a Buena Vista, Florida jail for leaving his baby abandoned in the rays of the sun at Disney World and assaulting passers-by for being drunk.
Brian Keith Olmstead, 35, a native of Brunswick, Ohio, was apprehended this Sunday as police reports the man was using the stroller his son was in to make his way through the crowd, using racial slurs on his way.
Park visitors began issuing complaints to park authorities, 11 in total, which led to the arrest.
According to the subject's wife, the family had started the day by visiting the ESPN Wide World park in the morning to watch a cheerleader competition. She says she left with her son around 3:30 pm and that her husband returned to the park.
Witnesses say they saw the father sitting there drinking next to the pool, while his boy sat in the stroller in the sun. Olmstead, sources told ABC Local 10, "looked intoxicated."
A park manager said that Olmsted was escorted to his room, but that he immediately returned to the pool, violently threatening visitors.
When Orange County police officers arrived to intervene, they found the boy's son with first-degree burns to his legs as he reportedly had been in the sun for hours. The boy was also wrapped in dirty diapers.
Olmestead is now facing child abuse charges, and has already been released from jail on $ 2,200 bail.
